A work in progress.
A glorious spring bouquet coming into being.
Colours, shapes and fragrance meet.
After a morning wander through the beds and borders, a gardener has brought back their bounty to the flower room and puts their creative mind to work on all that magnificence.
In a small glass vase on the marble slab, they start to arrange:
Aquilegia
Auricula primula
Catmint
Flaming parrot tulips
Geraniums
Hellebore
Pelargonium
Peonies
Roses of several varieties and
Violets
46.5cmx46.5cm
10.05.2026.
Delicate butterflies have wafted in from the garden and landed on the bouquets. Their wings, pale orange, paler blue, mirroring the petals.
And on the slab in front, a lemon and fig that might work well in the composition, a rose and some pansies that haven’t made the grade and a pair of well-used secateurs, the ultimate tools of this gardener’s trade.
